Video: Types And Types Of Scaffolding

Features of modern scaffolding in our country are regulated by GOST 24258–88 and GOST 27321–87. Nowadays, scaffolding means frame structures that are created from separate, standard elements. Such systems are convenient in that they can be used regardless of the terrain and outlines of the building itself under construction, reconstruction or finishing.
Nowadays, scaffolding is most often a combination of a metal frame and wooden decking. Moreover, the structure can be used many times, moving from one construction site to another.

The first type of scaffolding is frame. The basis of this design is a metal frame made of vertical frames. They are connected to each other by diagonal and horizontal ties. On the frames, these ties are attached with flag locks, which is why this type of forest is often called flag. Frame scaffolding is lightweight, easy to assemble - that's a plus. But they cannot be used on facades with complex geometry. The standard load is 200 kilograms per square meter.

Wedge scaffolding got its name from the way the elements are connected. The standard load of such a structure, which can rise to a height of 40 meters, reaches 300 kilograms per square meter. Steel wedges serve as retainers and are driven in with a hammer. The robust design allows the use of wedge scaffolding in aircraft and shipbuilding. The impact on a building or other facility under construction is minimal.

Pin scaffolding. The declared standard load is 200 kilograms per "square". They are fastened, as can be clearly seen in the photo, by introducing special pins into the tubes, which are welded to the posts. The height to which the pin scaffolding can rise is 40 meters. For rigidity, there are diagonal braces. The design is simple, therefore quite popular.

Clamp scaffolding can be erected to a height of 80 meters, they are most often used precisely on complex objects. It is more difficult to mount them, the standard load is 250 kilograms per "square". The clamps that connect the structural elements can be rotary and blind, tightened with bolts. Clamp scaffolding does not have a strict geometric size, you can choose a different pitch of the racks, change the height of the tiers and the size of the working area.

Fully wooden scaffolding, as in the photo, is today used exclusively in private construction, when the owners decide not to rent ready-made structures. The option, of course, is economical, the lumber can then be used for other purposes.
There are also suspended scaffolding, which, as the name implies, does not load the soil by hanging from the roof or top floor of a building. Most often they are used at high-rise buildings, where ordinary forests cannot be used. Another variety is cup scaffolding, side-scaffolding, such as a cup-lock. Such structures can be used as floor formwork.

Tower tour. This is a ready-made best option if you need to carry out a quick repair. Simple structure, easy to move, consists of base with wheels, frames with ladder and deck. Usually tower-tours are not higher than four meters, if the structure is higher, spacers are required on the first tier. The maximum height of the towers-tours can reach 21 meters.
When choosing the type of scaffolding, focus on your needs. If the height of the work is small, it is better to choose simple frame structures or a tower-tour. Clamp or wedge scaffolding should be preferred for complex facades. However, the most important criterion is safety! Be sure to check the attachment points for reliability, check if the stairs are comfortable, if there are safety bumpers.
