- Here it is, a new life
When you build your dream house, you want it to be flawless in everything, and at the same time to have a bright personality, to attract attention. And if it is customary to finish the facades in moderation, strictly and restrainedly, then the roof is the very element that is able to give the building its own style and character.
Modern roofing materials provide freedom for the flight of imagination. If you want to get a roof the color of young grass - please! Do you like orange in the most piercing shade? No problems! You just need to remember that the primary requirements for a roof are fire resistance, wear resistance, ease of installation and durability, availability, and only then comes the turn of aesthetic criteria.

Good old slate, by the way, with a margin overtook all newfangled materials in terms of basic characteristics - roofs covered with chrysotile cement sheets still in the 70s still do not flow, and in general they are ready to serve for more than a dozen years. But with the beauty of the classic slate had difficulties. Not everyone likes traditional gray, people want cheerful shades, especially in those regions where summer stays for a couple of months, the rest of the time, black and white colors prevail in the landscapes. It was necessary to add a zest to chrysotile cement, to make it not only a profitable, reliable and high-quality material, but also one with which one wants to work and live.
Red, red, blue …
The choice of primary colors for the roofing palette is due to the degree of popularity among consumers. And they most often prefer deep red-brown, noble chocolate, pleasant green, bright orange and restrained blue. But this does not mean that the manufacturer settled on five options once and for all. For example, you can order slate of any color at the Volna plant in Krasnoyarsk. According to the chief technologist of the plant, the number of shades with which the enterprise works today has reached several hundred. The protective decorative coating is applied to the slate sheets by casting and by airless spraying. A strong colored film is formed on the wavy surface of the sheet, resistant to all the whims of the weather and aggressive substances. In the process of dyeing, the Austrian equipment of the company "Voith", unique for Russia, is used, and this is also a plus to the level of slate quality and the durability of the future roof.

Another important aspect for the consumer was taken into account by the manufacturers of chrysotile cement - the need to lighten the sheets for greater ease of installation. The sheets were cut in half in height and the steepness of the wave changed. Six-wave colored slate looks much more interesting than the usual eight-wave, besides, narrow sheets are easier to mount alone, and the high frequency of the lathing helps to further increase the already decent strength of the slate coating.
Here it is, a new life
The specialists working on the installation of roofing materials reacted very positively to all the innovations, and admit that now chrysotile cement sheets have become a truly modern material. The demand for painted slate still exceeds supply, since the difference in the cost of a finished roof made of painted slate and other colored materials is obvious to anyone who considers their costs.

As you can see, the traditional gray slate has significantly changed in accordance with the market requirements, and this fact was appreciated not only by the owners of private houses. Colored wavy roofs are used in low-rise construction, townhouses are covered with painted slate, the roofs of five-storey buildings are renewed with them, chrysotile cement sheets are actively used in the construction of state and municipal institutions, schools, kindergartens, clinics. And all that was needed in order to give slate a second wind was to ask consumers what they want and to rebuild production processes according to new trends. It seems to be simple, but in reality for this the chrysotile cement industry had to go through a deep crisis, push off the bottom, and again find itself in the leading positions in the segment of roofing materials.
