Dimensions and shape
For a long time, noble breeds of natural stone have not been used in the form of building blocks. Even in ancient times, and even more so in the current pragmatic times, walls and columns were tiled.
But many decorative elements of the interior are still made either from a solid block of natural stone, or from part of it - a slab, which is a flat large slab.

Moreover, for the interior they choose rocks of a high decorative appeal. The most common are granite and marble, which have a beautiful texture and luxurious colors.
Countertops
Most often, the slab is used for the manufacture of countertops. Due to its good resistance to mechanical damage and high temperatures, the stone is ideal for use in the kitchen.

And in order to maintain the unity of style, stone window sills are often installed in a pair with countertops.

In addition to the kitchen, stone countertops can be found in the living room at the dining table or at the coffee table in the seating area.

Bathroom and toilet
There are at least two options for the stone finish of a conventional cast iron, metal or acrylic bathtub: the traditional cladding of the bowl standing on the floor, the spa style design when the bowl is installed in the stone floor.

If we consider the “evolution” of the bathtub since the ancient world, then the first materials for them were wood and stone. And now baths are made of stone, and they belong to the "elite".
The stone bathtub can stand alone and harmoniously complement the stone slab floor and walls with the same texture and color palette, or be designed as a spa area with its own stone plinth.

Another element of the bathroom interior is the washbasin. It can also be made of stone, either as a single bowl or as a double bowl.

Rarely, but still there are toilet bowls made of marble, granite or onyx.

Just like earthenware models from elite collections of well-known manufacturers, they can be supplied with a bidet.

Separately, it should be said about the use of natural stone in such an exotic "bathhouse" for us as a hamam. Unlike a Russian bath or a Finnish sauna, here ceramics or natural stone are used as decoration rather than wood.

Living room
Stone figurines are among the most common type of decorative interior accessories. They can be found everywhere - in the kitchen, in the hallway, in the bedroom or in the office. There is another place that seems to have been created for this - a shelf of a classic fireplace. It is crowned with a fireplace portal, which is made of natural stone.

But most modern models of solid fuel fireplaces with a closed hearth use marble and granite as a portal.

Their resistance to high temperatures is much higher than that of an artificial stone containing polymer resins.
Floors and stairs
The strength and moisture resistance of stone as a floor covering is appropriate not only in such "office premises" as a bathroom, toilet and kitchen. This beautiful, but cold, material fits perfectly into the interior of the lobby or hallway.

From such common areas of the first floor of a house, there are always stairs on several levels leading to the second or basement floor. And quite often the steps of the internal stairs are made of marble or granite.

Of course, wooden or forged staircase railings are more common, but lovers of "complete" harmony with marble or granite steps can always choose balusters and railings from the same material.
