The starting row of tiles is laid out from the most visible corner. The elements of this row should be laid as evenly as possible to serve as a beacon for subsequent rows.

In order to quickly drill a neat hole in the tile, you need diamond core bits. Set the diameter of all crowns in advance and buy exactly the ones you need so as not to overpay when purchasing a set. The tile should be drilled at low speeds - a hand mixer is better for this than a drill (it has a too sensitive button).

A correctly marked and clearly cut hole ensures a secure fit of the electric point (socket, switch).

Changing the direction of the geometry is a fairly frequent design move, and for its implementation it is necessary to change the beacon point. The starting point for all planes is the ceiling. The place where it joins the walls is clearly visible, so it is better to start with a whole tile. To do this, carefully measure the height and set the lower horizon taking into account the thickness of the joints.

The orientation of the top of the masonry can be obtained by the decorative plinth, or by the level of the ceiling plane. Be sure to use stands (in the photo - GKL strips), otherwise the tile may not hold and "float".

Then, in the same way, marking the horizon and observing the drawing according to the project, we revet the rest of the walls of the bathroom.

With any floor material, the base is decisive. Its reliability and precision in the execution of the plane is the key to successful tile laying. When facing the bathroom floor, you must follow a few simple rules.

1. The surface should be thoroughly dust-free and primed.

2. Start laying from the most visible corner. The side to be trimmed should be under the tub.

3. Be sure to check the masonry for gaps and slopes using a long rule.

4. Apply adhesive not only to the tiles, but also to the contact surface of the screed - this will improve adhesion.

How to cut tiles

You can cut tiles without a special tool (tile cutter), as well as without noise and dust. To do this, you only need a ceramic drill, clamped in a chuck. We press the guide (square) to the tile and repeatedly scratch the glaze and 1-2 mm of ceramics with a drill.

The result is a groove.

If this is the edge of a tile and you need to cut a thin strip, you can simply bite it with pliers along the groove.

If the tile needs to be cut in the middle, place it on the rod and break it along the groove.

In both cases, the edges must be cleaned with a diamond file.

Even in the absence of experience, you can make a quality repair if you show perseverance, accuracy and attentiveness, especially in the little things. Remember that the life of ceramics is almost unlimited, so you should not save time and materials by disrupting the technology.
