Glass Mosaic Tiles

Glass mosaic tiles are quite a beautiful and durable material. The use of glass mosaics in interior decoration allows you to create a completely original and unusual interior. The area of ​​application of glass mosaic is quite wide: it is used to decorate internal and external walls of buildings, to create art panels. Currently, glass mosaic tiles are used for tiling pools, bathrooms and kitchens. A special type of mosaic tile is produced for floor finishing.

Mosaic tiles have an operating temperature range from -30 degrees to +150 degrees. Mosaic tiles have low water absorption, high chemical resistance and low specific gravity. Thanks to this, the mosaic can be used for finishing complex surfaces, columns up to 15 centimeters in diameter, curved surfaces of small radius. Standard tile dimensions are 20x20 mm, thickness is 4 mm. Special mosaic for flooring has a tile size of 12x12 mm, with a thickness of 8 mm. Produced by matrices ("carpets") on a paper or mesh backing.

Mosaic tiles are small square opaque colored tiles with a smooth or corrugated surface, matte or glossy. The finished product is a picturesque "carpet". It is produced in the form of a semi-finished mosaic product consisting of tiles of one or more colors, glued with the front surface on paper. With the help of glue, the entire “carpet” is glued onto the concrete base. Thereafter, the substrate is removed. It can be easily removed after being wetted with a damp sponge. The surfaces to which the mosaic is glued must be clean, even, dry and smooth. A mosaic made on a fiberglass mesh is produced. When laying such a mosaic, the sheets are fixed in such a way that the mesh is covered with glue. The most common is a multi-colored colored mosaic without special additives.In the manufacture of more expensive types, additives are introduced into the molten glass that imitate expensive stones. In addition to multi-colored matrices, there are various "mixes", stretch marks, borders and panels on sale. "Mixes" are sheets with glued mosaic tiles of different colors in different percentages. Stretch marks are mosaic mixtures with a smooth transition of tones from lighter to darker. Borders are special mosaic ornaments with a width of 64, 150 or 171 centimeters. Standard panels are artistic compositions of multi-colored mosaics. The mosaic tiles of increased strength, created specifically for flooring, have been widely used. This mosaic is used as a floor covering in places of high traffic: in sales areas or halls. We offer mosaic tiles with a rough surface,which is used for finishing floors and steps in swimming pools. The foot does not slip on such tiles.

Mosaic tiles are a fairly durable coating. The service life of mosaic tiles is about 50 years. It can be used in rooms with high humidity or in conditions of direct exposure to corrosive gases or acids. Glass mosaic is pleasant to the touch, the material does not change color for a long time. Mosaic tiles can be used to cover stoves and fireplaces, the surfaces of which are heated to 100 degrees Celsius. But the service life and quality of the coating largely determines the correct gluing of the mosaic tiles. One of the main conditions, in order to avoid distortion of the tile color, is the use of a white adhesive.
