Video: What Are The Interior Doors

The theater begins with a coat rack, and a room begins with a door. The overall impression of your interior is directly dependent on how its zones are divided.

At least one door will fall out of the general context - and you can forget about the word "design". The theater begins with a coat rack, and a room begins with a door. The overall impression of your interior is directly dependent on how its zones are divided. At least one door will fall out of the general context - and you can forget about the word "design".
Now the market has a huge offer of interior doors, both domestic and imported. They are made of solid wood and veneer of various types of wood, glass, plastic, aluminum … By their design features, that is, by the way of opening, doors are divided into several types.
Swing doors are the most common. They are single-leaf, double-leaf and one-and-a-half leaf. Swing doors can be opened towards themselves or away from themselves, to the right or to the left - this must be taken into account when buying so that you do not have to change the set of hinges and locks later.
In living quarters, doors are most often installed from solid wood (natural - from solid wood - and glued, or inlaid), veneer based on MDF panels or cheaper plastic.
Glass swing doors are rarely bought home - this is the lot of office space. The lowest price for which you can buy a wooden door is from 3 thousand rubles. for domestic up to 4 thousand rubles. for imported. But such prices are only in warehouses and construction markets.
At exhibitions-fairs such as "Expostroy" on Nakhimovsky or "Stroyki" on Sokol, the cost of domestic wooden doors ranges from 5.8 thousand rubles. up to 8 thousand rubles, Spanish cost on average $ 270-300, Italian - from $ 500 to $ 1000.
Prices are even higher in branded salons of "promoted" manufacturers. For example, factories MOBILI DI CASTELLO and BIANCHINI CAPPONI, which produce pseudo-antique doors, hand-painted with paints according to old recipes and drawings, ask for $ 3000-5000 for their masterpieces. But this is already from the category of unscientific fiction. And if we return to reality, we can deduce some quite understandable patterns of increase in the price of doors.
According to the manager for wooden doors of the chain of stores "Who's there?" Alla Rivkina, the cost is influenced by the presence of a glass insert (such doors are more expensive, especially when it comes to Italian doors, where double impact-resistant glass with a gasket is used), non-standard sizes, the type of canvas (deaf is cheaper, paneled is more expensive), as well as the material itself (solid wood is valued above veneer glued to MDF).
Folding doors are more democratic. Usually they are installed in those cases when it is necessary to save space, and there are no funds for a more radical solution such as a compartment door that slips into a "pocket" in the wall.
A door of two wings (like in a bus) is called a "book", of several - an "accordion". Since folding doors are usually made of plastic, they look cheap: it's better not to put an accordion in the front hall. The most popular place for "accordions" and "books" is storage rooms and dressing rooms. Such doors cost an average of $ 50-60.
Sliding doors are sliding (from one leaf) or sliding (from two). They can be mounted on the top, bottom or two rails at once. In the first case, due to the absence of a threshold, the floor plane is not visually "eaten", leaving the impression of a single space. But there is also a minus - with a strong draft, the door "walks".
The doors on the bottom or on two guides are more stable, but it turns out a sill. Although, if desired, it can be drowned in the floor. "Sliding doors are an ideal solution for zoning adjacent rooms, for example, a kitchen and living room, combined into a studio," says Olga Bulanova, sales manager for interior partitions in the Koryna salon. "You can cut off the cooking area from the reception area at any time."
Like ordinary swing doors, sliding doors can be wooden (deaf, paneled, with glazing). In terms of price, they differ slightly from similar swing ones.
To create modern interiors, sliding doors made of frosted glass are often chosen.
This material acts as a zoning element: dividing, glass leaves the feeling that there are other rooms further away. It transmits light and at the same time stops a curious gaze. Glass doors are most often made with end straps, but there are options without them - a solid glass panel with a convex glass handle. It is worth noting that it looks very elegant.
Swinging doors are almost exotic in apartments. They swing open in both directions, like in the subway, so pets love them very much. But they are rare on sale, they must be asked in specialized stores.
Stable doors are a kind of conventional swing doors. As in the World of Household Appliances and Furniture company, they consist of two halves, upper and lower, with their own hinges and locks. Such doors are very popular in the West, and in our country they can often be seen in bars. It makes sense to put a stable door if there is a small child at home: the lower part, like a gate, blocks his way to a dangerous zone, for example, to the kitchen, and at the same time, a busy cooking mother can talk to him through the open upper sash.
Whichever model you choose, do not forget the basic design rule - all doors that are visible at the same time should be in the same style. The "discord" very much spoils the impression of the integrity of the interior.
And one more important point in the end. When designing a room, it is imperative to take into account that the doors must open from the outside of the room, outward - along the path of possible evacuation. If something caught fire on the stove, there was a sharp smoke in the room - you push the door, it opens automatically, and you, without wasting time, quickly leave the danger zone. This rule is common to all rooms, but it is especially important to observe it in the kitchen.
