Of course, it may seem to you that having your own pool is a privilege of very rich people. In general, you are not mistaken, but there are some “buts”. In a city apartment, building a pool is really very expensive, and in a country house, the developer is his own boss, he can design and build a pool according to his tastes, capabilities and wallet. Common sense dictates that there will be no people willing to install the pool on the second floor, it is expensive, and the personal plot allows you to place it on the ground.

This fashion came to us from the West. A private house without a pool is practically unthinkable there. But the fact is that the climatic conditions in Russia are not so mild and the outdoor swimming season lasts 2-3 months at best. Therefore, it is more advisable to install a pool in the house.
Pool types, shapes and sizes
There are two main types of pools - prefabricated and stationary.
The prefab pool is not a European but an American tradition. Collected in 30 minutes - and swim. I need to go to the city for the winter - I took it apart in the same time, put everything in a box and took it with me. American collapsible pools in the domestic market are represented by two models - "Intex" (Hong Kong) and "Pacific". The only difference is that in the frame "Intex" PVC pipes are used, and in "Pacific" - from duralumin. The height (depth) of children's pools is 76 cm, for adults - 92-105 cm. Such pools can hold 6-8 tons of water. The Intex construction is elementary. PVC pipes are installed on a flat surface, a kind of fabric is fixed on them - polypropylene, finished with vinyl, no metal, no hard surfaces. The necessary bolts are screwed in - the pool is standing. Then water is pumped into it - and you can swim.
There is a little more work with Pacific. There, corrugated steel tape is used as a strapping (top and bottom). But with certain skills, all this can be assembled and installed by yourself. In the domestic market, you can also find collapsible pools "SPLASHER", "FRIENDS", "CONCORDE".
The set for the pool usually includes a pump, a filter unit that is placed or hung on the side, hoses and a ladder such as a ladder.
Also on the market you can find very cheap inflatable pools made in China. Usually they have a rather short lifespan and no automatic cleaning is out of the question - in general, cheap and cheerful.

A stationary pool is the highest quality and most complex engineering structure. They are also produced by foreign manufacturers in the form of a set of building materials for its assembly and installation. Prices range from $ 10,000 to almost infinity, depending on size, finishes and accessories. I will not dwell on such pools in this book, but I will move on to more real pools that the developer can try to build on their own, that is, with minimal costs.
The simplest solution to creating a pool is to dig a pit, reinforce and waterproof it. The durability of the pool depends on the strength of the pit. You can put a greenhouse film in the pit and sprinkle it with sand so that it does not break. The result will be a one-season building, but also quite suitable for swimming, games, and also an excellent decoration of the yard and garden. If the pit is concreted, tiled, installed some hydraulic equipment, then such a pool will remain for future generations, that is, you can erect a monument to yourself (in the form of a pool) during your lifetime. Currently, ready-made injection molded plastic pool tubs are on sale. There are practically no drawbacks to such pools, except for the relatively small size and astronomical prices.
It is easier to build an open-air pool, but it will only function in the warm season (heating the pool in winter is very expensive and difficult). The swimming season can be increased by arranging a canopy over the pool and at least slightly insulating the approaches to it. Windows in such a superstructure should be oriented to the south. The materials for the walls and roof of the pool are the same as for the winter garden.
One of the options for placing the pool is to arrange it in the basement, the so-called zero level, where it is impossible to place living rooms and where there is a lot of free space. Here, in the basement, it is not bad to place a sauna, a shower cabin.
At a somewhat high cost, you can arrange a pool on a covered terrace in the winter garden. Thus, you can create a health complex that includes a swimming pool, gym, sauna, shower and winter garden. It is not forbidden to arrange a solarium nearby. However, this is a matter of taste for each owner.
The shape and dimensions of the pool bath can be any, it all depends on the tastes and needs of the owner.
For bathing children, one of the parts of the pool is made shallower (about 50 cm). Children's and adult parts can be separated by a wooden bridge at the level of the water surface. In addition, a resting ledge can be arranged along the transverse walls. It is logical to make the walls of the pool bath with a slope of up to 30 degrees. around the edges. This slope does not interfere with swimming, reduces water consumption. Sloped pool bath walls are often arranged in rectangular pools that are much longer than wide.
